In the Capital Region of Denmark, the Medical Helpline 1813 (MH1813), a free out-of-hours service, receives over 250,000 calls each year regarding children, with 40% of those calls leading to a physical evaluation at the hospital [13]. Serving 1.9 million citizens, MH1813 uses health care professionals who triage acute, non–life-threatening illnesses and injuries across the region’s 11 hospitals [11].

Chiradzulu District is situated in the southern region of Malawi and is subdivided into 10 administrative regions, or traditional authorities (TA). The Malawi 2015-2016 Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) indicated that 52% of the population has access to improved sanitation. According to the National Statistical Office, in 2019, 93% and 10% of the households in Chiradzulu District had access to safe water and improved sanitation facilities, respectively.

Concurrent Treatment of Opioid and Tobacco Use Disorder in a Telemedicine Clinic: Case Report of Breaking Through Barriers

The patient was unemployed and lived with his significant other in a rural area in the southern Appalachian region. He had a family history of opioid addiction, indicating that he “watched (his) mom and dad use opioids” during his teenage years. The patient reported a history of an unspecified anxiety disorder, initiation of smoking a pack of cigarettes per day since he was 16 years old, and intermittent use of methamphetamine approximately once per month beginning at the age of 19 years.
