Virtual Reality for the Prevention and Cessation of Nicotine Vaping in Youths: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

Virtual Reality for the Prevention and Cessation of Nicotine Vaping in Youths: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

We hypothesize that the intervention will be feasible (eg, high rate of student assent), satisfactory to students, and that most students will engage with the intervention (eg, complete all 3 sessions). Although the trial is not fully powered, we further hypothesize that the intervention will have promising effects in the desired direction on vaping attitudes and behaviors. Eligible participants are assenting students enrolled at 1 of 2 high schools in the Greater Boston Area of Massachusetts.

Personalized Digital Care Pathways Enable Enhanced Patient Management as Perceived by Health Care Professionals: Mixed-Methods Study

Personalized Digital Care Pathways Enable Enhanced Patient Management as Perceived by Health Care Professionals: Mixed-Methods Study

Bivariate analysis was conducted with a χ2 test for categorical variables and a 2-tailed Student t test for continuous variables. To address the primary objective, responses collected from the questionnaire were analyzed by calculating mean scores and measures of dispersion (standard deviation) for each question. Higher mean scores indicated greater perceived usefulness of Up Hill Route v3, while low dispersion reflected stronger agreement among participants regarding the software’s usefulness.

Co-Designing an Antiracist Dental Health System: Protocol for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander–Led Mixed Methods Study

Co-Designing an Antiracist Dental Health System: Protocol for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander–Led Mixed Methods Study

Both student groups (2025 and 2026) will complete a set of evaluation measures related to curriculum competencies at the end of their respective years. The evaluation items will be directly informed by the co-design process and related to antiracist behaviors and knowledges, such as the Harvard Implicit Association Test [55] and the Anti-Racism Behavioral Inventory [56].

AI-Assisted Hypothesis Generation to Address Challenges in Cardiotoxicity Research: Simulation Study Using ChatGPT With GPT-4o

AI-Assisted Hypothesis Generation to Address Challenges in Cardiotoxicity Research: Simulation Study Using ChatGPT With GPT-4o

The evaluators were YL, a professor holding both MD and Ph D degrees; TG, an MD degree holder and final-year Ph D student; and CY, an MD degree holder and first-year Ph D student. Final scores for each hypothesis and experimental plan were determined through group discussion conducted via web-based meetings. Each hypothesis was independently scored by the 3 evaluators before the group discussion. Fleiss κ was used to assess interrater reliability.

Deep Learning–Based Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Exacerbation Prediction Using Flow-Volume and Volume-Time Curve Imaging: Retrospective Cohort Study

Deep Learning–Based Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Exacerbation Prediction Using Flow-Volume and Volume-Time Curve Imaging: Retrospective Cohort Study

Group comparisons were conducted using the chi-square test, Student t test, or Mann-Whitney U test. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) was the primary evaluation metric, calculated using the De Long method [17]. For each model, the cutoff value was determined using the Youden index from the internal validation set, and sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value were evaluated.

Postpartum Depression and Maternal-Infant Bonding Experiences in Social Media Videos: Qualitative Content Analysis

Postpartum Depression and Maternal-Infant Bonding Experiences in Social Media Videos: Qualitative Content Analysis

The research team consisted of a male psychiatrist with experience working with mothers with postpartum depression and infant mental health, along with a female medical student and a female undergraduate student who are interested in obstetrics and child development and psychology, respectively (KS, JSC, and SYZ). A coding rubric was developed in several stages using an inductive and deductive (ie, hybrid) approach [27,28].

Requirements and Value Elicitation for a High-Fidelity Pelvic Floor Simulator for Physiotherapists: Mixed Methods Study

Requirements and Value Elicitation for a High-Fidelity Pelvic Floor Simulator for Physiotherapists: Mixed Methods Study

However, a study of over 400 final year medical students in the United Kingdom found that simulator-based teaching is less expensive per student for pelvic examination training than GTA-led teaching [49]. Certain features, such as sensors which were of interest to users, may increase the cost of a simulator beyond budget constraints despite being included as a design recommendation.

Using WhatsApp for Nutrition Surveillance Among Children Under 5 Years in West Java, Indonesia: Cross-Sectional Survey and Feasibility Study

Using WhatsApp for Nutrition Surveillance Among Children Under 5 Years in West Java, Indonesia: Cross-Sectional Survey and Feasibility Study

Another study showed that, to achieve the same accuracy of anthropometric measurement as a medical student, cadres must be trained intensively and receive regular education [70,71]. Capacity building can be carried out as a means to train cadres to conduct anthropometric measurements and digitally report data [72,73]. In order to record individual data, having a NIK number is an integral part of the reporting process.

Exploring Connections Between Mental Health, Burnout, and Academic Factors Among Medical Students at an Iranian University: Cross-Sectional Questionnaire Study

Exploring Connections Between Mental Health, Burnout, and Academic Factors Among Medical Students at an Iranian University: Cross-Sectional Questionnaire Study

Implementing supportive interventions requires further investigating specific student populations. The aims of this study are twofold. Primarily, we assess the prevalence of mental health issues and burnout among native Iranian medical students at Zanjan University of Medical Sciences. Additionally, we delineate connections between mental health status and burnout risk by evaluating associated academic and personal factors.
